Ecotech Institute to Collect Old Electronics as Part of America Recycles DaySM on November 15

Ecotech Institute’s Celebration will also include an art and upcycling contest

Denver, Colorado, October 31, 2013 – On November 15, Ecotech Institute will host an electronics drop off station, accepting old electronics such as TVs, computer monitors and printers. This recycling event joins thousands of others across the country in celebration of America Recycles Day. This is a national initiative by Keep America Beautiful and the only nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States. This year’s theme, “I Want to Be Recycled,” was developed to educate people about the importance of recycling and its impact on our economy and environmental well-being, as well as motivate occasional recyclers to become everyday recyclers.


At Ecotech Institute’s celebration, electronics will be collected at the school at 1400 S. Abilene Street in Aurora, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to the collection center, Ecotech Institute students will take part in an upcycling contest, giving them a chance to show off their creativity by creating upcycled outfits. This could include creating outfits from recyclable materials such as plastic bags, newspaper, garbage bags, aluminum foil and many other items.

“We are very proud supporters of Ecotech Institute’s America Recycles Day event and commend their efforts to promote recycling in the Denver area,” said Brenda Pulley, Senior Vice President of Recycling at Keep America Beautiful and national program manager for America Recycles Day. “Recycling is the easiest thing we can all do to improve our community, conserve natural resources and create green jobs. Collectively, through events like these, we aim to make recycling bigger and better 365 days a year.”

Ecotech Institute is also hosting an art contest for elementary students. Artwork can be dropped off at the school, 1400 S. Abilene Street, for consideration or emailed to Zhanna Stavina at zhanna.stavina@ecotechinstitute.com. Ecotech Institute will use this year’s winning artwork as the logo for next year’s America’s Recycles Day celebration.

“Recycling is something many people take for granted, but it’s a simple act that has tremendous impact,” said Kyle Crider, Ecotech Institute’s Manager of Environmental Operations. “For example, making cans from recycled aluminum actually uses 95 percent less energy than non-recycled materials.”

The national recycling rate is currently at 34.7 percent. Recycling 75 percent of the nation’s waste would create nearly 1.5 million jobs by 2030, according to a report by the Tellus Institute with Sound Resource Management.

A blonde, blue-eyed beauty appears to be the ideal woman for wealthy men looking for young, attractive women. Newly released survey findings reveal the most desirable as well as the most unwanted traits of a rich man’s dream woman.

The men surveyed deemed a beautiful smile fully 2 times as important as beautiful hair, which will surprise many women and please their dentists, but not their hairdressers.

The wealthy men were then asked to rate the importance of various personality characteristics. Having a great personality was rated twice as important as intelligence, and a woman's sexual nature was rated almost 3 times as important as her ability to get along with his friends and family, or being a good travel partner.

The 3 most important personality characteristics according to the survey of rich men were:
1) Honesty
2) Loyalty
3) Faithfulness

The characteristics rich men find least important in their ideal woman include being successful, assertive, talkative and dominant. When asked what characteristics they found least attractive, a woman being a drama queen and demanding were both bigger negatives to these men even than a woman doing too much drugs. And a woman being liberal or conservative politically was one of the least important factors of all for these wealthy men.

When it comes to race and income, SugarDaddyForMe.com found that the smaller the man's income, the less important race is. Most wealthy Caucasian and African-American men find women in their own race as being the ideal one. However a majority of the wealthy Asian and Hispanic men surveyed consider Caucasian women to be more attractive than women in their own race. And men with an annual income of less than $1 million prefer slim women, whereas men making over $1 million prefer athletic women.

London, UK, October 30, 2013 - Celebrating 100 years of Bollywood, Conferro Auctions is hosting a special preview of its upcoming inaugural auction of Vintage Bollywood Memorabilia on 14 – 15 November at the Westbury Gallery, Westbury Hotel, Mayfair, W1.

The auction features collectables such as LPs, film banners and Bollywood posters from some of the milestones of Indian film history, including Mughal-e-Azam (1960) and Sholay (1975), which were recently voted the top two greatest Bollywood films of all time.


The 150 lots include vintage LPs, banners, synopses, posters, lobby cards and gramophones from the last 100 years of Bollywood history, which will be auctioned on 29 November.

Bollywood has become one of the world’s largest film industries since the debut of its first official film on 3 May 1913, Raja Harishchandra by Dadasaheb Phalke. Producing some 1,000 films a year (twice the annual output of Hollywood), the stars of its silver screen are known the world over.

As reported by The Telegraph, the UK is home to the largest audience for Bollywood films outside of India, contributing 15-20 per cent of the industry’s profits.

Says Conferro’s Director Sharan Seth, “With Bollywood such an ingrained part of our cultural identity and the timely centenary of Bollywood film, our first auction reflects India’s rich and vibrant history and artistic practices”.
