Silver Spring, MD, November 27, 2013 -- Easter Seals Serving DC | MD | VA is pleased to announce that Candida “Candi” P. Wolff, Citigroup’s Executive Vice President and Head of Global Government Affairs, has been elected to its Board of Directors.
“Candi has a passion for public service and embraces the Easter Seals mission to strengthen the community by advancing opportunities for people with disabilities and special needs including veterans and military families.” said Lisa Reeves, President & CEO of Easter Seals Serving DC I MD I VA. “We are very excited to have her as a member of our board as her drive and advocacy for advancing the vital mission of Easter Seals is unparallelled.”
In her role at Citigroup, Ms. Wolff is responsible for the company’s government affairs globally, including U.S. Federal and State government relations and international government relations.
Ms. Wolff has more than 20 years of government relations experience in key public and private sector positions. Most notably from January 2005 to December 2007, Ms. Wolff served in the White House as the Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs. As President George W. Bush’s principal liaison to Congress, Ms. Wolff had the primary responsibility for formulating and advocating the President’s agenda in Congress. She advised the President and his cabinet on legislative strategy regarding economic, domestic, international and national security issues.
Ms. Wolff also worked for Vice President Cheney as his head of legislative affairs, and she worked for eight years in the U.S. Senate serving in senior staff positions in the Republican Leadership and as tax counsel to former Senator Malcolm Wallop of Wyoming.
Prior to joining Citigroup in May 2011, Ms. Wolff was a partner in the Legislative and Policy Practice at the law firm of Hogan Lovells where she represented clients in legislative matters before the Congress and the Administration. Ms. Wolff’s private sector experience also includes time as a partner at Washington Council Ernst & Young, a Washington, D.C. based consulting firm, and as an Associate in the Public Policy and Law section of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, a Washington, D.C. based law firm.
Ms. Wolff was named by National Journal as one of the Top 25 Most Influential Women in Washington in 2012. That same year, Ms. Wolff was also named a “Woman to Watch” in banking by the American Banker Magazine.
Ms. Wolff serves on the Board of Trustees for the U.S. Capitol Historical Society and the Advocacy Network Board of the Bipartisan Policy Center. She also chaired the 2013 Easter Seals Serving DC | MD | VA Advocacy Awards.
Ms. Wolff earned her B.A in mathematics and political science from Mount Holyoke College and her J.D. from the George Washington University School of Law. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association.
